Job Description: CareerTech Business Education Teacher

Position Summary
Pauls Valley Public Schools is seeking an innovative and knowledgeable CareerTech Business Education Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction in business, computer applications, and career readiness. In addition to classroom responsibilities, this position will play an essential role in athletic media production, including live streaming events, managing social media content, and assisting with multimedia production for athletic programs. The ideal candidate will combine strong business and technical skills with creative abilities to support both student learning and district media needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Instruction & Classroom Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of CareerTech-approved business and computer courses, such as:
- Business Management
- Computer Applications
- Digital Media & Technology
- Financial Literacy / Personal Finance
- Develop curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials aligned to Oklahoma CareerTech and state standards.
- Integrate real-world business, technology, and digital media skills into instruction.
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with district and state guidelines.
- Create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment that encourages student success.
CareerTech Program Leadership
- Maintain compliance with Oklahoma CareerTech requirements, reporting, and documentation.
- Support student organizations such as BPA (Business Professionals of America), if applicable.
- Coordinate work-based learning opportunities, industry partnerships, and career readiness activities.
Athletic Media Duties
- Oversee or assist with live streaming of athletic events, including setup, production, and operation of equipment.
- Produce multimedia content for video boards, athletic events, and campus digital displays.
- Assist in maintaining and updating Panther Athletics social media platforms with high-quality, timely content.
- Support production and content development for the Panther Athletic Magazine.
- Collaborate with the athletic department to ensure consistent branding and high-quality media presentation.
- Train and supervise students assisting in media production or technology roles.
Professional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and district CareerTech staff to support student learning and program quality.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Maintain current certifications and participate in required professional development.
- Uphold district policies and promote a culture of professionalism, integrity, and student-centered learning.
Qualifications
- Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with appropriate Business/Information Technology endorsement and/or ability to obtain CareerTech certification.
- Knowledge and experience in business, digital media, and computer instruction.
- Experience with video production, live streaming platforms, social media management, or related technology preferred.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot multimedia equipment (cameras, audio systems, graphics software, streaming tools).
- Strong communication, organizational, and technology skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with athletic department staff and other educators.
Working Conditions
- Position requires some evening and weekend responsibilities for athletic events.
- Must be able to lift and operate media equipment as needed.
- Standard classroom environment with additional duties in athletic/event settings.
